Hopping Grammar Verb Tenses
Targets sorting verb tenses, sentences, correct the sentence, and a worksheet.
*Jelly beans: Sort verb tenses (189
cards, 11 game cards, and 3 verb tense mats) - Place
all cards in a pile. Have the student
draw a card and sort the card onto the correct verb tense mat.
*Bunnies: Sentences(48 cards, 8 game
cards, and 3 verb tense mats)-
Students choose a card and identify the verb tense in the sentence and sort
onto the correct mat.
*Chicks: Correct the sentence (56 cards, 8 game cards, and 2 mats)- Students choose a card
and identify if the verb tense is used correctly in the sentence, if not the
student must correct it.
*Worksheet- Students underline the correct verb tense
Contains: Total
of 293 cards, 27 game cards, 8 mats, 24 blank cards to create your own
words/sentences, and 1 worksheet.
I like when my kids have to correct sentences...develops some awareness.

ReplyDeleteI love this activity, especially the sorting mats. I feel that it really encourages children to look at the morphemes and enhances that meta-linguistic skill. Great stuff here! :-)
